I Know Where I’m Going!
Towner are working with Eastbourne & Lewes Walking Festival to present a very special screening of one of Powell & Pressburger’s lesser known films.
With filming held up on A Matter of Life and Death, thanks to a shortage of colour cameras during WWII, Powell & Pressburger headed to the Isle of Mull to shoot in black and white. The resulting film is a love letter to the rugged landscape of Scotland.
Thanks to bad weather, Joan Webster is trapped on her way to the remote outer Hebrides in Scotland to marry a wealthy industrialist. Killing time before she can make the boat crossing, she explores the island and finds herself charmed by the no nonsense islanders she meets.
Alongside this screening, Towner have curated a series of talks to coincide with this year’s festival. Visit towner.gallery/WalkingFest to find out more.
