Cabaret

Presented by Fresh Perspectives

Presented in partnership with Fresh Perspectives, Fabrica’s young film programmers group invite you to join them for a screening of Cabaret…

It’s 1931. Political unrest looms over Germany, unemployment is at a high and the economy is in pieces. Amongst this chaos is Sally Bowles, an American cabaret dancer, working at the Kit Kat club in downtown Berlin. Sally is met by Brian Roberts, a British academic who has come to Berlin to practice his German. Despite Brian questioning his sexuality, the two soon become lovers but what awaits them is the arrival of Maximilian von Heune. An arrival that will complicate everything…

Renowned for its incredible music, Cabaret deals with issues of identity, sexuality, love and history, as the story plays out against the rise of the Nazi party leading up to WW2.

Bookings can also be made in during gallery opening hours by speaking to a member of the gallery team or at Fabrica during office hours.

Screening as part of BFI Musicals! The Greatest Show on Screen, a UK-wide film season supported by National Lottery, BFI Film Audience Network and ICO. bfimusicals.co.uk
