FILM & DISCUSSION: A Peculiar Shade of Blue
Join us for an evening of reflection, interaction and exploration. A Peculiar Shade of Blue presents a sequence of six short, slow cinematic films to chart a journey through the nature of grief in our times.
Initially crafted within the constraints of the Covid-19 pandemic, A Peculiar Shade of Blue has continued development since 2020 as an ongoing, interactive film-theatre project. To date it has screened as work-in-progress at CAST (Cornubian Arts + Science Trust), Cornwall, UK in March 2022 and Scenstudion Gerlesborg, Sweden in September 2022.
This next iteration of the piece has an extended structure that invites audience members to engage in ways that can enhance their experience and support exploration:
PREPARATION: Walking, writing, gathering natural materials ahead of the event.
PARTICIPATION: Upon arrival audience members are invited to contribute to a simple installation with materials they bring. This ice-breaker creates focus and holds the space.
DRINKS + DISCUSSION: A space for our audience to reflect on their immediate experience of the films and wider experience of grief.
