Where were you in ’62?
Join us for an afternoon screening of George Lucas’ coming of age classic American Graffiti, following a group of California high school grads on their last crazy night of summer vacation. Featuring a soundtrack of classic 50s and 60s rock and roll, Graffiti was Lucas’ first hit movie and helped bankroll his next project, Star Wars!
“When I went to see American Graffiti a world that now seems incomparably distant and innocent was brought back with a rush of feeling that wasn’t so much nostalgia as culture shock. [It] is not only a great movie but a brilliant work of historical fiction; no sociological treatise could duplicate the movie’s success in remembering exactly how it was to be alive at that cultural instant.” – Roger Ebert
Doors open 12pm for a 12:30 start. Affordable refreshments and popcorn will be available.
Presented in partnership with Men in Sheds Kemptown, Fabrica’s creative wellbeing project primarily supporting older men in Brighton & Hove.
